Our School
Joliette Elementary School is located in Saint-Charles-Boromée, north of Joliette, and serves the English community in the northern Lanaudière region. We proudly opened our doors in September 2012, and offer our 276 students state-of-the-art classrooms, a full gymnasium, a treehouse library, a resource room, and a wooded playground.
Our students are drawn from within an 85 km radius of the school from 26 different municipalities. Our school provides English education to children who are legally eligible.
Our Vision
Joliette Elementary School is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that empowers students to achieve academic excellence. Our mission is to provide a high-quality English education that prioritizes essential life skills, an appreciation of community and extracurricular activities. We aim to open doors for our students and foster their sense of belonging and well-being.
Program
Our focus is to provide quality education for our students with an emphasis on spoken and written English. The majority of our curriculum is taught in English. In Kindergarten, students receive 100% of their learning instruction in English. Students in grade one through six, receive 75% their learning instruction in English (English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Social Studies, Culture & Citizenship in Quebec, Drama and Physical & Health Education). French as a Second Language and Visual Arts are offered in French. Students who arrive from outside Quebec receive support in French through a special year-long program – Mesure d’Accueil.
